Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Survey Director / Technical Lead

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Lagos & Ibadan (with occasional remote work requirements).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the comprehensive design of surveys, encompassing questionnaire structure, sampling frameworks, weighting rules, and reporting standards.
  • Approve all questionnaire modifications and event modules prior to programming.
  • Rigorously review weekly fieldwork outputs, quality assurance findings, and analytical summaries before their circulation.
  • Interpret complex findings, discerning genuine shifts in sentiment from sampling variability or operational artifacts.
  • Chair weekly technical review meetings to ensure methodological rigor and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Uphold survey neutrality, resisting any pressure to overstate precision or manipulate findings.
  • Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders on the appropriate utilization and inherent limitations of weekly survey evidence.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a closely related quantitative or social science field.
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in survey research, public opinion polling, governance measurement, or development research.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing), tracking, panel, or repeated cross-sectional surveys.
  • A profound understanding of Nigeria's political and administrative landscape, with direct familiarity with South West Nigeria being a significant advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex research projects from inception to completion.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
