How Long Should Your CV Be? A Guide for Nigerian Job Seekers

One of the most common questions job seekers ask is: "Should my CV be one page or two?"

The answer is simple: your CV should be as long as it needs to be, but no longer than necessary.

0–3 years of experience? Aim for 1 page.

4–10 years of experience? 2 pages is perfectly fine.

Senior professionals with extensive experience? You may need 3 pages, but only if every detail adds value.

Recruiters don't reject CVs because they are two pages long. They reject CVs that contain unnecessary information, repeated responsibilities, or details that are no longer relevant.

Your CV is not your life story. It is a marketing document designed to show an employer why you are the right fit for the role.

Before you submit your next application, ask yourself: "Does this information help me get the job?" If the answer is no, it can probably go.
