Responsibilities

A leading sales and marketing company in the wine and spirit business in Nigeria is urgently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Territory Sales Manager.

Purpose of Job:

Ensure achievement of the target in the assigned territory at minimal cost and service distributor’s’ order adequately

Nature & Scope of Position:

The incumbent is based at the area office and reports to the Area Sales Manager and works closely with the Sales Canvassers

Key Responsibility:

1.      Target/ Territory Coverage

  • Effective Covering of assigned territory
  • Generate orders & advice on appointing new distributors
  • Achieve sales target as per plan
  • Breakdown of territory targets to customer’s
  • Provide sales services to appointed distributors and wholesalers/retailers by selling products within the territory
  • Ensure redistribution target is achieved
  • Effective merchandising of the assigned territory (both in store & street)

2.      Customer Management

  • Weekly/Monthly review of Customer’s stock position
  • Disseminate relevant information to the trade about sales activities, promotion, price adjustment etc
  • Execute assigned promotion activities in line with approved brief.
  • Complete visitors’ book in Distributors’ outlet call cards in retail outlets
  • Monitors and ensures credit policy as it affect customers limit are strictly adhere to
  • Training of appointed distributors sales men
  • Route riding with appointed distributors van sales men(VSM)

3.      Market Intelligence

  • Monitor & provide feedback to boss /management with happenings in trade
  • Track and report competition performance, activity and campaigns
  • Spot & promptly report opportunities in market place

4.      Personal Effectiveness

  • Plan & execute weekly journey plan which will be agreed by the ASM
  • Prepare weekly, monthly reports and other relevant reports as required
  • Expenses incurred are collated at the end of every week to be approved by the ASM.
  • Ensure PJP is authorized & adhered to

5.      Reporting:

  • Provide periodic feedback to sales and marketing team on territory key performance issues

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Achievement of territory sales target (Volume & Value)
  • Implement approved itinerary/PJP.
  • Report timely trade feedback to the management recording demand and product complaint.
  • Monitor and prepare competitors activities within the assigned territory.
  • Keep abreast of any technical changes to company products, system and policy to able to offer up-to-date advice all customers.
  • Compile and make available the weekly/monthly respect including sales figures as it affects his territory.
  • Optimal & maximal use of the allocated sales digital tools assistant (Fieldmax)

General Requirements

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years(ATSM); ≥ 5 Years (TSM) sales experience
  • HND/BSC degree in any discipline
  • MBA will be an added advantage
